Book Launch: Lessons Learned in Software Testing
The book "Lessons Learned in Software Testing" by Cem Kaner , James Bach and Bret Pettichord contains 293 lessons that the three authors within about 50 years learned profession. A strict quality control by the authors made sure that the lessons are not aware of any sharp ninety-minute meditation. Instead, the book contains further practical experience that can be contradictory at first glance to each other's experiences.
This is not a contradiction in terms, it is is a collection of personal experiences, to the differing circumstances, other persons or other outcomes could have resulted. And this is precisely one of the main concerns of the authors: in the book is not a panacea or a standardized procedure, but rather a toolkit for good recommendations, partly due to the situation better, some are less suitable. They call this approach "context-driven." The appendix of the book contains a call to the school of "Context-Driven Approaches to join.
are to maintain track of the lessons eleven thematic areas are assigned. They range from the basics of testing, for example, "The Role of the Tester“ und „Testing Techniques“, über Management-Themen, z.B.
I can recommend it to anyone who is concerned with testing and test management. In following articles I will discuss in more detail on individual aspects of content.
The book "Lessons Learned in Software Testing" published in 2002 in English editions by Wiley Computer Publishing.
